Sadly, I was beat out on an auction for a cel of
a character I've been actively searching out for
a while now. My maximum bid was well over what
should have been twice the cel's worth. . . Later
I found out the winner was only interested in cels
of "pretty girls". This was a *VERY* crushing
disappointment to me, since I had never before
seen a cel of this character that showed her
face, and there it sits with someone who not only
has no clue who she is, they don't care either.

I did speak to the person, who did offer to trade
it to me for another "pretty girl" cel - but I
don't think they were really serious, since they
wouldn't point out something they were interested
in. Or I should say, the only things they pointed
out were already ended YJ auctions they wanted me
to ask sellers about - one of which had been *won
by someone else*. ~_~ (No! I will not try to talk
a seller out of selling to his high bidder!!)

Gee. Thanks. But I guess I'll keep looking and
hope the next cel I find of her doesn't wind up
going to someone whose only interest is big
boobs. So far, I'm still looking (for years now).

But before anyone reads this as especially bitter
(I'm really not, just put out about it), I just
wanted to use this example to underscore that it
really *IS* easier "to find another 'pretty cel'
than for a fan to locate another cel of their
favorite character". BUT!! I also *greatly*
appreciate the people here who are honest about
not wanting to trade cels they bought for the art
alone. I really would have rather NOT gotten my
hopes up about making a deal for this cel, only
to be completely jerked around. ~_~

Incidentally, I have no real problem with people
who buy cels from shows they haven't seen. I
don't do so myself (oh! actually, once) - more
because there's so much else I want from the
shows I *have* seen! ^_^;

Many Sharp Smiles,
