My attitude isn't harsh, it's realistic and based
on my observations of this board. I've seen one
too many thread here about people who do this and
that and why we hate them and why they suck.
Threads dedicated to "those" kind of collectors,
whatever, whoever, the "bad" flavor of the week
is. Wasn't there recently a huge thread about the
politics of collecting where many of the posters
complained of the overly obessive and downright
vicious behavior of fellow collectors? Come on,
wasn't it you who got "thrown off" for announcing
a sale? Seems a bit silly to me. Cel collecting,
like any other hobby, should be FUN.
"I will think they're nice til something on my
wishlist comes around, then Id end up reselling
them because they mean nothing to me."
But that is *you*. I was speaking for myself in
my post. If I buy a KITE cel for the artwork, I'm
buying it for the artwork and not to pass time or
whatever trying to get a "dream" cel. I don't
have a "dream" cel or a "wishlist". I buy cels
because I like the artwork. For example, Sailor
Moon is one of my favorite animes, but the cels
out there in my price range just don't do it for
me, so I don't really have anything from that
series. Am I mad because someone else has the
money for the good cels? No. Also, most of the
cels I own I plan to keep because selling the
things is such a pain in the butt and the costs
are rarely recovered. I really don't think that I
deserve to be called a bad person because
I "stole" someone's "dream" cel. If I have the
money and I have the will to buy it, it's my
business. Maybe if people didn't spend all of
their cash on piddly cels that they will just
resell anyway and saved up for their so-
called "dream" cels, then they would have the
funds to buy the cel when it comes around. Just a
thought.
PS. I didn't take it heart. I like reading your
posts.
