there are tons of reasons to collect, but most 
collector's cel purchases can be divided into 
three groups: cels bought for the scene, for the 
character, and for the art. pretty much all of my 
cels are bought for the art. which is why 
virtually never will you see a cel in my gallery 
with just a tiny character standing around with 
no background.

I'm always stalking X/1999 updates, but I really 
did not like the movie. perhaps it was the poor 
fansubbing, but I just did not enjoy it, 
especially the end. however, I think the artistry 
in the cels and character design exceed almost 
every other anime. so does that qualify me to buy 
a couple of cels from the series, even 
expensive "dream-quality" ones? yes!
   As for shows I haven't seen at all, Vampire 
Hunter D is one of them, and I own a somewhat 
strange cel of D's mother because I love the 
lines and detail. and though it would be easy to 
sell(I've gotten a few offers), thus far I just 
*can't* let myself let it go.
