I think the whole point of collecting anything is 
the enjoyment that one receives.  If I like a cel 
or a character enough to want to buy it, it is 
entirely irrelevant whether or not I've seen the 
anime, know anything about it, or even like it.  

For me, KITE is an excellent example of an anime 
whose animation and design is beautiful, but the 
anime wasn't my thing (I found it boring).  I've 
found several cels that I would like to buy and 
as soon as I have a regular job, I'm going to buy 
them (assuming they're still around).  Does that 
mean I might be acing out a hard core KITE fan? 
Maybe. Does it or should it matter to me? Not 
really since I enjoy the cels and I have the 
money. BTW: I'm totally drooling over that Sawa 
cel someone posted earlier, good catch!

I think too many people get pissed off because 
they don't have the money or the time to stalk 
updates or the good internet connection, etc, so 
they want to come up with ways to demonize the 
people who get "their" cels. Quite frankly, I 
think it's childish and obessive. If someone is 
that attached and worried about cels, then it's 
time to get a new hobby before s/he gets an ulcer 
or has a heart attack.
