That's interesting. If it's just emotional
attachment to a character or series, why wouldn't
someone just buy a poster for $5.00 instead of a
cel? As a seller of anime cels, I've found
myself competing against $5 posters whereas
animation cels by Hanna Barbera or Disney go for
a small fortune, even if they're not original. I
think the difference is that the Disney stuff,
etc., is being sold to nostalgic baby boomers
with money, whereas the average anime fan is
younger and often times still a student. Right
now I'm debating on what the best aspect of the
anime business is to be in. Thoughts? |
