How can having fewer cels in the marketplace make 
cel collecting less exciting?  For me one of the 
best things about this hobby is the thrill of the 
chase.  I also collect because I love my favorite 
show and it is great to have an original part of 
it.  That show is over 20 years old so I don't 
really care about new anime being produced.  If a 
lack of new cels in the marketplace makes my cels 
more valuable great, but that is not the reason 
why I collect.  I can see a shift in collecting 
for new anime from cels (since they are CG now) 
to other production art like storyboards and 
character design sketches.  I think this will be 
the way to go if you want to collect something 
original from a newer anime.
