Like it's been said in many of the above posts, 
had you read them all before posting... Yes, "CG" 
has become the generic term for anything computer 
animated, weather it be 2D or 3D... and most 
everyone on this forum and other forums knows 
what is meant when someone says a show is "CG"
 
Just because it's common, doesn't mean it's 
correct.  I don't know about Japanese Animation 
professionals, but if you were talking to anyone 
who works in American Animation, and you used the 
term "CG" to describe one of these shows, you 
would probably be mocked.
