As a buyer I always post feedback the day I
receive the item regardless if they have left it
for me.
As a seller I do not leave positive feedback
until they have done so for me OR told me they
received the item and are satisfied or we are
working something out.
Why? Very simple. You can have someone pay on
time and seem like a great buyer, but then you
mail the item and they receive it and then
complain when it's not your fault. I had a buyer
once who paid right on time, then I sent the cel
to them and when they received it they emailed me
demanding money back because they decided they
didn't really need it. Um, pardon me? They also
wanted me to pay for the shipping for them to
return the item to me. I had the email where
they said "The cel is really beautiful, but I
realize now I don't really need it, so I would
like to return it."
Considering the auction stated the terms very
clearly and the person got very nasty, I am glad
I hadn't left feedback when they paid.
As for not posting feedback out of fear of
retaliation, I wish people weren't as worried
about 100% rating and more concerned with
protecting others from deadbeat bidders.
One deadbeat bidder I found out later had not
paid on like 10 other recent auctions, but all of
those sellers were too worried about retaliation
to post it. Imagine seeing 10 non-paying
comments all in a row, but only 1 on each of
those sellers. Would have saved me and others
many headaches I think.
