Well, I think Toei is full of it for suing for 4.5
million yen...that's about $35,000.  I could see
one or two cels selling for three to four thousand
dollars if there was a bidding war. There is a lot
of discussion of what a 'fair' price is, but I
could buy just about buy any cel in the series for
under two thousand.  Anyway...if I had $35,000 in
cels, they wouldn't be just lying around.

    If they really are worth even close to that
amount, then shame on Mandarake.  Cels that are
THAT expensive are few and far between...it would
have been really obvious since Toei probably threw
a fit when the cels went missing. The thing about
a cel is that they are all unique-and it takes
minimal effort to identify a particular one.
