...Because it's easier to make this mistake than
you think.
Believe it or not, alot of people, even web-
savvy people, have made foolish errors in
dealing with the web. I've been the victim of
this kind of thing once before...and never
again, but at the same at which it happened, I'd
considered myself a reasonably well-versed
internet surfer.
In my case, the form I was sent was supposed
through yahoo. Hell, the URL was even yahoo.com
sponsored, yet it still turned out to be a
hoax. Now, I got off lucky in that I hadn't
really revealed anything particularly personal,
but it still happens.
People make mistakes. It happens. Sometimes
we're more trusting than we're supposed to be,
sometimes it we just do it without even
thinking. It doesn't mean we're "stupid." We
may have made a "stupid" mistake, but that
doesn't it's our general state.
Yes, to a degree, I was to blame for what
happened back then, and to a degree, this
individual is to blame as well. However, we
were both deceived by another person as well, so
the blame falls to them a bit of the way as
well. They took advantage of us - however
foolhardy we were to let them - and so they are
not innocent either.
Thus I say making a claim that fancels.org
deserves this is absolutely ridiculous...and its
cruel and rather nasty. She didn't HAVE to warn
us. She could have just done this through email
or not even told us at all. She put her
reputation on the line just to make sure a
person wasn't cheated. I think that's
commendable, and I don't find her at too much of
a fault for being upset and passionate in her
responses. She's been hurt, deceived, and
instead of lending even a few words of
consolation alongside the rationale of your
explanations, some of you threw in some rather
unkind comments.
I'm not trying to say anyone here is wrong in
the sense that your arguments are incorrect.
You've all made valid points in your statements,
but from the perspective who only visits this
forum occasionally and has no personal
connections to anyone here, seeing this from an
objective perspective is rather discouraging.
Yes, we all have opinions on this matter, and
you may not sympathize entirely with
fancels.org; however, disagreement and personal
opinion does not give anyone the right to insult
another person.
