...and the dealer shows very little concern for
his customer, how much compensation would you
ask for? I'm sure many of you recall my
dealings with a certain dealer that I still have
not named aloud, really. When they first opened
shop online (I thought it was in February at
first, but I think it was actually in March), I
found a high wishlist cel on their site. I
quickly ordered it and received a confirmation
email rather quickly as well. I sent a money
order to them, which took longer than normal
(longer than it would have taken to get a money
order for Japan), and I waited. I waited and
waited, and waited. I didn't receive a cel from
them until maybe close to the end of June. It
was the incorrect cel that I ordered. I
realized from a friend of mine, that she was the
one who actually ordered and received the cel
from them. She informed me that there was a
labeling mistake on the dealers website. The
image of the cel that I wanted to order was
mismatched and had an incorrect link to a
different cel (when you click on it to see a
zoomed image). I didn't catch any of that until
it was far too late. I contacted the dealer and
told him of the mistake. He appologized and
asked for me to send the incorrect cel back to
him and he'd send me the correct one. I was
skeptical about this since I *knew* my friend
actually had the cel that I had ordered (I
forget how she was able to order it correctly
and without any problems to begin with). I
waited again for quite some time without much of
a responce by email. When I returned home from
Japan, I found a package from the dealer. I
opened it to find again the incorrect cel--which
I knew. I contacted the dealer and said that
again he sent me the incorrect cel. At this
point, I was getting rather upset. All
throughout this ordeal, I received very little
response from them, and when they DID respond to
me, it was very brief and without much of a
desire for any kind of resolution. For the past
2 months, he's offered other cels to compensate
for the one that was sold under me, however,
nothing really struck my eye. I was patient and
waited for when he was expecting to receive more
cels from this particular series. No email. I
contacted another cel collector that is from the
same area as the dealer and had him email the
dealer for me; and again he did not get much of
a response but basically a "just wait a while"
sort of conclusion. I have been waiting long
enough. I no longer want ANY cel from them, and
I am more concerned about being refunded both in
full and in compensation for all this crazy
trouble.

So here comes my question to all of you. How
much of any compensation money would you ask for
in this sort of situation? I think the answer
to this lies in the degree of value I originally
had for the cel that I tried to order from
them. I originally paid $150 for the cel, plus
an outrageous charge for EMS (which I was
skeptical that it actually was EMS since it took
so long in the delevery process), plus around
$20 to send the first incorrect cel back, and
I'm still holding on to the 2nd incorrect cel as
a leverage to get them to finish this matter---
which doesn't seem to be happening yet. I
estimate that it will cost around the same ($20)
to send this 2nd incorrect cel back to them. So
that right there is $190 that I spent on this
dealer; not to mention all the emotional
frustration I've been going through and still
am. I conciddered asking for $50 compensation
money, so that would bring the total to $240.
Do you think that this is a reasonable amount to
ask for to end this fiasco? Any and all
comments welcome!!!

THANKS!
Rekka
