I forgot to mention if I was still married instead
of say, divorced at the time of my departure, I
would've already come clean and included the
significant other in my hobby. I will certainly
tell them precisely how much I paid for each cel;
I want this trusted individual to also know where
to find this information. Hiding your
spending habits (or anything for that matter) IMO
is extremely unhealthy in a relationship, doing
so, shows you got something to hide and do not
completely trust the other person. Regardless if
they do not approved that is their opinion to
make, since your spending habits will ultimately
effect them to some extent. Unless of course you
want all of your beloved cels and earthly
possessions to be sold or donated. Otherwise, come
clean and keep them involved, even if they are not
as interested in your collections/hobbies as you
are. Completely, trusting your significant
other/heir(s) is the still best policy in any
relationship.
I like to keep a hardcopy log right next to the
cel books. I update it evertime I sell, trade or
purchase a new cel. I include where I purchased it
from, date, email and contact information of
seller. Also I like to keep a running tab on who
also collects from the same series. You can call
them competitors when you are living, but when you
are dead, these kind souls will probably be your
best bet to selling them off piece by piece. As
such, keep their contact information now, and
instruct your heirs to mass email them announcing
a sale of cels from series they collect is prudent. |
