This is sort of a morbid thought, but I found
myself wondering....
If I were to be hit by a meteor falling out of
the sky tomorrow, or discover that I had a brain
tumor, what should I tell my survivors to do with
my cels?
(Lest anyone wonder -- no, I am not contemplating
anything unpleasant. My life just keeps getting
happier as time goes on, and I dream of living to
be 120 years old; but as I looked at my pile of
cels tonite, I realized that I need to be
responsible to my significant others in case a
meteor chooses me for it's entry trajectory).
I'm looking at a pile of about 600 cels, many of
them "high-end" cels. If I were to become worm
food tomorrow, my survivors would have interest
in keeping only a small minority of the cels, and
might need the extra cash to get by for a while.
What would they best do?
Do big dealers like Yann and Curt by whole large
collections for fair prices? (I consider "fair
price" cash for a large collection to be 50% of
what they think they could sell it for).
Or would my survivors have to become eBay street
people, auctioning off 600 cels one-by-one as
quick as they could manage it?
Or is there a better idea?
Just wondering what people know -- when I thought
of this, I realized that it's a reasonable
financial planning question that I had given NO
thought to before...
