...half the time, what I see on eBay I bid on
from impulse (which is why I tend to stay away
from eBay these days...I've never been truly "in
debt", but it's put me pretty close...), so if
someone I know really wants it, I let them have
it. Of course, nowadays, I've found myself to be
intensely lazy with eBay auctions...I don't like
bidding if someone else has bid, and if someone
outbids me I rarely make the effort to counter-
act. Heh ^^;;
However, even though I'll let someone have a YJ
auction if it means more to them, if it's big
enough to have moved me into using a deputy
service (which I have used all of one time in my
entire collecting career...for me, the
whole "saving money" aspect is lost once a deputy
service comes in...something that I would have
bought at $30 I would not buy at the $50 it ends
up being after a deputy service has gotten to it.
It's stupid, I know, but I value my money, and
plus, this helps keep impulse buying down :D),
it's usually something really important to me.
It's a bigger deal for me then, as well...but it
all comes down to these factors:
1) Who saw it first?
and...
2) Who wants it more? (i.e. is it wishlist, is it
something they collect from, etc)
If I am the victor in both of those
considerations, I don't back down. But,
otherwise, I usually do, as I enjoy spreading joy
moreso than hoarding it :D
