I'm pretty intrigued now whether rights can be
retroactively suspended or not. I think they can
be but I have no proof as of yet. It's an
interesting discussion because the idea of
copyrighted works in regards to fine art and
commercial art should technically be the same
(except for ill-defined "fair use" even though
commercial property can be used that way too).
If, for instance, you bought the rights to use
the "eBay logo" then I think you have every right
to demand that the current eBay suspend usage of
that logo. But fine art? hmm? It's fuzzy probably
only because I don't know the details. I'll have
to do some more research.
Still, I have to back up the original poster by
saying -- if that person who took the images has
made it a (nice!) habit of asking permission from
online galleries, I think that that should be
followed through even if the images appear on
ebay. All these sites are public. I'm not sure if
I had made it clear in my previous post.
