I don't see the studio coming after anyone. They
should find where the real "leak" is in the system
and stop badgering people. This isn't a case of
someone saying they bought a stolen car from "an
honest looking guy" (note the quotes) - this is a
case of someone buying something from a well
known and, as far as I have known, respected
store in the related field. They had no way to
know or even suspect the item was "stolen".
Besides, again as I understand it - many of these
"stolen" cels are actually legitamately taken.
That is apparently part of the nature of the
business. Does Link do *ALL* the backtracking
necessary to prove that none of their cels were
one of the ones "stolen" from a studio? I doubt
it. Unless they do, they have no right to start
throwing stones in their glass house.
I still think Aloha Anime has the right to sell
the cels.
I don't bash Link for trying to profit from "work"
but the post from Usagi's House doesn't clear up
anything about what they did. So they bagged and
sorted it all. I'm not impressed. Cel dealers do
that all the time - read the recent message from
Stephen of Taro.
