Playing devil's advocate again, try think clearly about this... (Sun Jan 13 02:22:32 2002 )

I'm certain that what fireye means by Anime Link
cataloging cels to sniff out stolen cels is
basically this:

If Anime Link recognizes a cel online that was
NEVER released (sold) by them to another party,
then that is cause for them to be suspicious and
to investigate.

HOWEVER, if Anime Link sells VHD cels to a
dealer, and the dealer in turns sells to a
customer, I see no reason why the customer
shouldn't be able to sell the cel later on.

Anime Link has been around for a while, and they
are obviously patrolling online sales of VHD
sales, so it wouldn't make sense for them to sell
VHD cels to other dealers (most likely knowing
that they are dealers) without expecting the
dealers to sell those cels in turn.

(Try reading that last paragraph aloud; it's
almost like trying to say "So I sell cels by the
seashore so see the sale of super rare cels so
sue me.")

Okay, back to my first tangent. There really
shouldn't be any obstacle to trading at all, as
far I can tell. Now the fact that AL is
exercising their proclaimed right to be the
exclusive VHD cel seller in North America and
stopping other sellers... I'm also not sure how
that works, exactly.

I suppose professional sellers could barred, but
I don't see how private sellers could be. And
there may be where the line is being drawn.
