...said John Donne a couple of hundred years ago,
so he probably wasn't talking about cel updates.
^_^; But I like the quote, so I use it here
anyway. Whenever someone beats me to a cel
that's high on my wishlist (which happens 95% of
the time), I can't help feeling rather
disappointed and hopeless.

I guess what we all have to realize is that there
are a LOT of cel collectors out there--the people
who post here are probably just a small
percentage of the total number--and they *all*
want great cels at good prices.

I've grown accustomed to the fact that by the
time a cel update shows up on Yann's Keep-Track
pages, the best cels will probably already be
gone. It's not "functional discrimination."
There are just too many hungry owls watching
these sites at all hours of the day and night for
anything really nice to escape notice for long.
That's just the way it is.

And even though I mainly collect "less popular"
series, I'm still frequently amazed to learn that
a cel I thought no one but me would want has been
snatched up by some other collector. It happens.

As frustrating as it may be, just be patient. I
really don't spend much time stalking updates,
but I've still managed to pick up a few great
cels over the years. Every once in a while, fate
will smile upon you, and you will stumble upon a
fresh update that no one else has discovered.

As for people "raving" about their latest
acquisitions here in the forum, you'll just have
to learn to not take it so hard. Some people are
just that way. And in any case, there are a lot
of other great cels that get bought up and then
just disappear from the face of the Earth
forever, so it's nice to know where a
particularly great cel went, even if it went to
someone else.
