I can understand that. Although I'm still kinda
wondering about that first question (what's the
difference between my sketch and your genga, when
they look like they're from about the same part
(in the "Ah! A question" post)...again, just
curious).
So, I suppose that means...a lot of the
Lodoss "genga" floating around that are just
partial sketches are just production sketches.
That makes sense.
Anywhoo, as I said, I can understands the
distinction of layout vs. genga vs.
sketch...which brings me to another question. Why
do so many people advertise plain ol' production
sketches as genga, then? It seems that the
difference increases the value quite a bit and
that a distinction should be made...
I think I'll go back and change the webpage so
that I can start to defunct these perceptionsof
genga that many have. I, for one, certainly fell
for them.
Tell me if this would be a correct/OK definition
for genga on the site:
Preliminary sketch used to insure continuity in
look of the characters from scene to scene. These
have very little to do with the actual production
process except to demonstrate any points/examples
of the character for that scene, and thus is ued
as a blueprint/backbone for the animators to base
their work off of. Drawn by lead animators, and
as such have intrinsically more value than any
sketch.
It's a bit rough, I'll clean the wording up
later...but would this be a more correct
definition?
