Howdy!
Rubberslug finally has a home and is fully
operational at http://www.rubberslug.com.
What is Rubberslug, you ask?
Rubberslug is a grand scheme to take over the
world, one cel collector at a time. The first
part of this master plan allows cel collectors
new and old to create cel galleries online.
Creating a free cel gallery at Rubberslug gives
you some nifty features you can’t get by hacking
out a page on another free webpage service:
* No need for HTML. Rubberslug is entirely menu-
driven, although advanced users can mix in HTML
at will.
* Built from the the ground up to support cels.
Record sketches, layers, multiple images, and
background information without missing a beat.
* Flexible and simple templates allow all sorts
of color and graphic customization (again,
without any HTML).
* Password protect your cels to show off to your
friends while avoid those inane “Hey, how much do
you want for that?” questions.
* Receive feedback from your visitors without
ever having to reveal your e-mail address.
* Interactive wishlist allows adding a wishlist
item and an example image as simple as point and
click. Rearrange and prioritize your wishes
through simple drop-down menus.
* ... with still more nifty things in the
laboratory undergoing testing!
The next phase of this plan will be put into
action sometime in the next few weeks. We (that’s
you, me, and everyone else reading this) are
going to start building a database of cel
availability for every show that we collect.
Rubberslug will act as a neutral third party to
note both the rarity and relative price of cels
(like Wizard, but with very broad ranges), down
to specific characters, costumes, and situations.
Look for it soon!
For now, have fun creating a cel gallery on
Rubberslug. If you want, just mess around and
create some junk. Just create something; you’ll
be my new best friend.
Check it out at http://www.rubberslug.com.
(This should open in a new window so you can go
back to the forum later.)
*** A big THANK YOU goes out to all the
pioneering folks that helped test this system.
