God,
I am so there with you I can almost shake your
hand my friend. I see most cels on YJ go for
dirt cheap, until, that is, the news is posted on
here, or elsewhere, then the prices go mad.

I have seen a couple of things I wanted myself on
YJ, but I know better. Im not about to pay 30
extra dollars for someone to place a bid that
will get bumped. Ive seen some cels, that should
be cheaper, get smudged with outrageous prices
lately. I do think that it's the US market
that's doing this. Anime has become so
mainstream that people are flocking to it,and
when they find out about the neat little thing of
cel collecting, they flock to that as well, to
look cool at cons I guess. Hell, I only want
cels of characters I LOVE, and I dont care who
thinks Im cool, or uncool cause I dont have a
gallery full of gorgeous things. In fact, I wont
buy a cel now if there's a chance I'll resell it,
cause then it's not worth it to me.

Ive seen a whole chunk of cels lately sell on
Ebay for huge tags, not to mention on dealer
sites, and then, in 85% of those cases, the cels
end up right back on the market. Three Nuriko
cels automatically come to mind. Instead of a
REAL fan, like me, getting the cel, someone(s)
just fires up the price, and then realizes they
overpaid or, even worse, dont like the cel
anyways, and sells it again in like, a month or
two--for a higher price >:(. If it were a year
or two, then I wouldnt mind near as much. But
dam, really. And yeah, then dealers know they
can charge the high tags, then when someone buys
it and doesnt want it the next week, they too,
think they can charge over their purchase price
for the cel, making the tag even higher!

I dont know, Im not sure what cel you are ranting
about, but, just know that others feel the same
way. I know you have to have $$$$$ to play this
little game, but, at least make it a fair game
people.
