Wndrkn isn't here to pipe up, so I have to relate
something to the group regarding Atomic Club.
She actually WENT TO FRANCE and physically WENT
TO THE STORE and had her French friend with her
and had written them in advance about the cels.
She had FRANCS IN HAND - no money order, no
dollars sent in the mail, etc. . . .
She almost STILL could not wrench the cels out of
their hands. The cels were sitting right there
and the people had NO INTENTION to sell to her,
even after she identified herself. As she was
standing there, they upped the price on one of
the cels she was trying to get. She had to get
overly insistant to even get a couple of the cels
she wanted, they wouldn't show her more cels she
wanted to see, and after all that, she said that
the way the store clerk handled the cels was
atrocious!!!! She almost leaned on the cels to
write out a receipt (wndrkn stopped her!),
flipped and flopped them around like they were
just so much paper, and started to try to pack
them in ways that were so dangerous to the cels,
even wndrkn's NON-CEL COLLECTING friend got
scared they would be damaged and shouted at her
to STOP.
This is the experience of someone who actually
went to the store and tried to deal with them. I
will happily tell anyone here that Atomic Club
should be treated like poison - STAY AWAY.
As far as French dealers being treated
differently. . . The ones I've dealt with deserve
it. I can read and write French with a decent
amount of fluency. I would happily pay a French
store in any way that I can which they would
prefer. I don't even mind waiting a week or so
for a reply from a store. And even being easy
going like this, I have yet to find a cel shop in
France that has any kind of customer service when
dealing in mail order. It doesn't matter what
language you use to try to communicate with them.
They don't write back. They just jerk you around.
Point me to a good cel shop in France and I will
change my opinion. Until then, I will hold my
opinion.
Many Sharp Smiles,
