I think considering the intent of the seller's
important. It's hazardous in the long run to
support someone who through all the evidence is a
speculator -- it'll only encourage them to
continue.

As for auctions -- people can be ripped off. They
may do it to themselves, but it does happen.
There would be no problem if everyone entering an
auction knew about cel dealers or read this cel
forum. As someone said, only a small percentage
of the people on ebay do this. In other words,
I'd agree with you, if everyone on ebay were
informed consumers. I bet that if you should some
of these people this site, they'd kick themselves
for some of the prices they've paid in the past.
Remember the Quatro cel? There wasn't anything
extraordinary about it, but two people paid
several hundred dollars for it. Cels of similar
quality show up on Taro for less than a hundred.
In the past someone even paid $200 for a
Evangelion chroma cel up on ebay. Sometimes cels
even drop in price. Remember when Duo used to go
for $700? Now I'd say a good cel would fetch $200
on ebay. Samething's happened to other Gundam
Wing characters. Talk about volatile.

Granted, you can't blame the seller for the
situation, the people did it to themselves, but
you can't say that these people weren't ripped
off.
