Well, although I am neither the buyer nor the
seller in this deal, I do have to say that I HATE
getting "order cancelled" mail, which I've had now
twice (once because the seller realized that oh,
he'd already sold that piece at a recent
convention, and once for no reason that was ever
given, which is far worse).
I guess if I were this buyer, I'd be quite upset
at the seller, who should have sent a note saying
"okay, I need the money now, IF you don't make
payment, THEN I will cancel your order." Not only
would it have been the polite thing to do, but by
the sounds of it, it would also have elicited the
information from the seller that she was willing
to pay a lump sum.
Of course, I also don't know a damn thing about
this deal other than what was posted here. *grin*
But just judging by these posts, I'd say that the
buyer and the seller know each other (from the
"always sticking my nose into her business"
comment, this is pretty plain), they are friends
or at least acquaintances, they made a deal over a
cel, and now the deal has "gone south", so to
speak. And while I haven't ever purchased cels from "whisper," to the best of my knowledge, I have traded several with "CrzyDemona," and I found her to be quite communicative. She also sent the cels in record time (mmmmmm... magical battle horizontal pan... :)
So why am I butting in here? *big grin* Do I have a point? Hmmmmmmm... *looks back over post* Nope, I guess not. I just HATE having orders cancelled out from under me, and so hate seeing it happen to somebody else, and would urge any other collectors who might take similar action to take other available avenues before cancelling an order. Keep good records so that you don't double sell, never cancel an order without reason (if you open the binder and realize that you are in fact still madly in love with the cel, that's a very justifiable reason, but SAY SO!!), and if you're going to cancel an order to find a faster buyer, send a warning note first.
Just my two shillings' worth... I adore this hobby with a passion, but human interaction and feelings ARE still more important that painted bits of plastic. *grin*
