So we can't put down people who use a few 'token words'
in their posts, I agree. We have to be tolerant.

But I also agree with the first poster to a certain
extent.

1) When 'kawaii' become the otaku version of the valley
girl 'like'. Hearing it every second word is very
irritating.

2) When people actually write sentenses in languages
they know nothing about and end up with something
incorrect. I for one have no interest in seeing a language
(be it Japanese of another) mangled by someone who thinks
he can just throw together 3 words seen in a dictionary
and impress everyone.

So I think the fact is that it depends in WHAT SPIRIT the
words are used. If it's to sound 'cool' or to attempt to
impress, then the person should get a life. If it's just
for fun, then why not!

(although you have to take the chance that on first look
people who know the language might find you silly or
ignorant if you use the words incorrectly)

K.
