Just a couple of thoghts on the fake cel idea. It would be extreamly easy to fake a cel but it would not be cost effective to do so. It would be like counterfiting $1 bills or coins. Sure you would get away with it but it would be more trouble than it would be worth. Also what do you consider a fake? All of the Disney stuff (after the little Murmaid)is fake. They were not used to make the film. They were made for sale. What about the non-Key cels? This might be new to some of you so I will explain. Ever wonder about the number in the top right of the cel and the pencil? That is the production #. It tell the guys in the camera room where they go in the line up. Some times they will have a ring around the number. The drawing with the ring were made by the "Key" Artist. So the "Key" artist makes cels like 1,5,9 etc.... The rest of the cels were done by lesser artist copying the "Key" artists style. It is all in what you consider fake. I think non key cels are real but all the stuff from Disney is fake. Fuzz |
