mmm, seems that i didn't explain myself well
enough on my previous post. We can say that there
has been a cel price reduction in the last years,
but to say that you have to consider at the same
time several factors like:

1- The series, character/s featured
2- The kind of cel (normal, high end, etc...)
3- The particular market (US market, japanese
market, ebay, YJ)

By placing together all those factors there are
surely many combinations that result in a cel
reduction price, but there are others where the
price has not been affected, at least not very
much. That's why i say that i'm probably one of
those with bad luck.

If you take a look to my gallery you will probably
figure out which are the cel types i tend to
collect, and for those the main market is located
on Japan, mainly on YJ and Mandarake these days,
and for those cels when the starting bid is not
high enough the bidding wars will raise the price.
Of course, no need to say that if i try to sell
one of those cels on the US market (ebay for
example) i probably won't get half than what i payed.

One good example of how important is the
market.... On the latest Asylum Anime update i got
a cel from one of those series that i collect. I
payed $325 for it. 1-2 weeks later a cel from the
same sequence and same quality than mine was
auctioned on Mandarake with an starting bid of
$200 and it was sold for more than $700. If that
same cel had been auctioned on ebay i doubt it had
arrived to that price.

So resuming, if i'm asked about cel prices, from a
neutral point of view the only thing i can answer
is: "It depends....", but if i have to talk about
the prices of the cels that i collect then i can
say that prices have not dropped at all. Things
would be different if the US market had more
availability of these cels but unfortunatelly it's
not the case. -_-
