I try and keep a mental note of cels that people 
are looking for (even if it's not someone I 
really know, sometimes items on their wishlist 
are memorable for one reason or another) and 
send them an email when I see something come up 
that I think they'd like.

Only once have I bought a cel for someone not as 
a gift.  In that case, it was for someone I know 
IRL and the cel was on her wishlist.  If for 
some reason she hadn't wanted it, I would have 
been more than happy to keep it. ^_^
