I really like the site the way it is now :\ Im
one of those big fans of "If it ain't broke, dont
fix it." I understand that when you learn a
nifty new program that you want to be able to
dazzle with it...but in this case it's going to
cuase a lot of problems for your buyers. Like
Yann said....for a site where you want as many
visitors as possible, the simpler the better.
Flash is great for corporate sites, info sites,
comedy sites etc. But for a site where the
primary bullet point is to be super fast...Flash
is going to make a lot of people throw their
modems across the room...at a poster with you
face on it ^^;; Im very fortunate, I have
Roadruner cablemo at home, and a T1 at work. No
problems for me...but many I know are on AOL
dialup...and they will not be pleased. AOL has
many fleas, and it HATES Flash with a vengence..
I use AOL at home, as well as IE...I use IE if Im
doing any serious web surfing, cause AOL doe not
like moving objects.
Im all, Im really a big fan of the current site.
It's so easy to read, simple, fast loading. I
love that. Fast loading...mmmmmmmmm :rubs
tummy: No other cel sites I can think of use
Flash. Some use those animated gifs out the
wazoo, and that drives me insane. Bottom line
is...do you really want to sacrafice the
usability to many of your customers just to show
off a program? You can always use Flash for your
personal gallery, and perhaps a corporate site.
But for the actual cel pages and front page...I
support the no-flash way.
PS: I usually work in other memory-hog programs
while I surf the web. Flash looooves to crash
them when I hit a page that uses it...then..I
proceed to go out of my mind. |
