Reproduction cels too, or Production cels only? (Wed Oct 16 10:19:23 2002 )

I always wonder if there is a real "stigma"
applied to hand-painted reproduction cels vs.
production cels...Maybe people here would
frown about the comparison. But, I am just
curious.

Personally,I like all kinds of cels; repro.,
production, game, hanken, fan, and even print
cels if they are atrractive to me so much that I
can`t take my eyes off of them and I feel that
there value to me is justified.

But, I admit, I have mixed feelings
sometimes.. .Some of the hand -painted and/
or silk-screened style of reproductions that I
have seen "look" great and they are from the
original studio that produced the anime and
come in limited cel quantities. But, I still really
think twice before I purchase one. (I haven`t
been disappointed yet)

I own a few and I am quite satisifed. Has
anyone else here collected any studio
repros.? What do you think about yours?

Albeit, they are not a part of the actual movie
batch of cels used in footage. I still see that
production cels that were not used in the final
cut for editing reasons, still out-perform the
limited edition cels hands down. It is very
interesting to me.

Anyone dislike reproduction cels? Game
cels? and such?

What is your perspective?

Do you think if a studio (same artists) made
limited editions within a sequence of a major
scene, do you think that it would make any
difference? Or if the limited editions were like
10 or 20? Or is there just "no soul" in
collecting reproductions. Do you see repro
and think "fake" cel ?

Just curious ^-^
