First, you anger is completely misplaced and you
misunderstand what I wrote. I am speaking from my
own experiences and about the people I've known.
I never wrote that this or that applies to all
collectors. Or that if you do or have done, or
are currently doing this or that, then you are
such-and-such. I am not judging others, but
clearly you are. These are my experiences, not
yours. Just b/c you haven’t experienced the same
things, doesn’t invalidate my experiences and
vice versa. While I don’t think what you are
saying is correct to state for the general cel
community, I do know where you are coming from.
But you should realize, I never claim to
represent or speak on the behalf anyone other
than myself, these are my reasons for leaving and
like them or not, they are still valid reasons.
Not everyone will agree with you on whether or
not there are more responsible collectors or
whatever. Likewise, not everyone will agree with
you posturing about what is or is not depressing
when it comes to being unable to obtain cels from
series dealers tend to corner. You might not find
it frustrating, kudos for you, but not everyone
will necessarily respond in the same fashion. To
some, cels are merely forms of temporary
entertainment, other view it as art, other
collectibles, and others can and do view it
simply as merchandise. You might not like people
who regard cels or collect them in ways that
don’t ascribe to your views, but they still
doesn’t invalidate these differing perspectives.
Furthermore, why does it even matter to you, if
other people collect, or generally view this
hobby as something other than how you view it?
Once again, not everyone will agree with you on
what are the “wrong” reasons for being in this
hobby, anymore so, than agreeing on what are good
ways to collect.
Drac, it appears you are taking what I've written
as insults to you (especially) and to any
collector who does not share my thoughts or
experiences. That is sad. I never ask anyone to
agree, nor do I seek others approval on how I
regard the way I view and managed cels; I am
simply sharing my thoughts on the subject. Why
you continue to take personal offense to my
comments and observations on this matter, is
truly and utterly beyond me. It is interesting to
note however, that you seem to be the –only- user
who is insulted and irate enough to continue
using ad hominems. I do disagree with you but I
am doing so, without being disagreeable.
