Isn't it more about "personal history" lies. . . ? (Fri May 2 05:30:43 2003 )

I don't think it's really the markup/price that
is what's *really* bothering haruna (although I
can tell that bugs her too). It's the seller
marking them up multiple times and claiming to be
losing money on them.

While this breed of lie has nothing to do with
the actual item, it irritates me to see it
too. . . and I see it frequently. The sellers who
claim to be selling something for their cost when
they're really asking more than they paid. The
sellers who go on and on about how tough it is to
part with this long-owned, "cherished" piece of
their collection when the cel in question was
bought cheaply the week before and the person is
only trying to turn it around for a quick
buck. . . Anyone remember the slew of "car
accidents" people were getting into a couple
years back before everyone else started to poke
fun at it? Every cel sold was sold to fund car
repairs after an accident. (*smirk*)

To sellers:

COME ON, people. . . !! The rest of us DO pay
attention to the movements of cels in the series
that interest us, we also pay attention to other
collectors' buying/selling habits. We don't miss
these things. Unless something is true, why
bother saying it?? Why cheapen yourself?? Seeing
"personal history" lies (to give them a name)
make me wonder about the truth of rest of the
details you give that I'm not as sure about. . .

To answer your question, haruna, I wouldn't
bother saying anything if it were me. The seller
obviously doesn't give a crock, or they wouldn't
have lied to begin with. Also, if you do want to
deal for some of the cels back, the criticism
would probably not help you -- even though many
think the same about "personal history" lies.

Many Sharp Smiles,
