Thanks for the input. You guys are the greatest.

You know how I got started in collecting. I
bought this anime show called Dual! on DVD. I
know, the show is an unoriginal, schmaltzy,
Tenchi-Evangelion ripoff but, I liked it. The
only other anime shows I had seen up to that time
were Escaflowne and Evangelion. (I'm sorry but
Evangelion is the dreariest show I have ever seen.
I bought the entire eight volume set piece by
piece from Buy.Com hoping someday it was going to
lighten up. Shinji your a fricken wimp. But I
digress.) This was about three years ago. Anyway,
I started surfing the web looking for Dual!
websites and I ran across Hobby Shop K. Hobby
Shop K was selling these things called cels.
Well, I e-mail the owner asking "What the heck are
these Dual! cels? They look like original art."
The owner e-mails me back indicated that the cels
are cels used in the production of the show. So I
tell him I want to buy 5 of the cels he has for
sale. I send him my address and ask about
payment. He tells me he was preparing for a trip
to Anime Expo in Long Beach. Since I live in
Orange County, he asked if I could bring cash and
meet him there that way I'd save on shipping and
he could hand deliver the cels.
So I go down to Long Beach wait in line and
register for entrance into Anime Expo. All I
could say at the time was Holy Cow what the heck
is going on here. I am not in Kansas anymore. To
make a long story short, I got my cels from Hobby
Shop K, bought a few more cels, a gift for my
girlfriend, gawked at a couple of scantily clad
woman (which I now know where cosplayers), and
bought a couple of CDs. Since I had committed to
going to a movie later in the day, I couldn't stay
to watch any shows or attend the cel discussion
being held in the evening.

Over the next year I manage to buy enough cels to
fill up two celbooks. Anyway, I stopped
collecting after that one year. Cash was short at
the time and dates aren't cheap.

But now I'm back with an improved cash flow
situation. I'll try to fill up two more celbooks
but only with good quality cels. I haven't been
back to an Anime Expo but maybe someday.

Thanks again for all those who contributed to my
re-education of cels.
