1 - I replace the bag depending on the quality of
the bag. I've gotten cels from dealers/auctions
without bags, with saran wrap, with very cloudy
dirty flimsy things... those I replace. If the
bag is 'nice,' I don't. Often times I have to
rebag the cel anyway to separate layers and sketches.
2 - I take out the staples so that they don't
eventually cause tears in the cel. If it happens
that the layers/sketches/backgrounds aren't stuck,
I don't add tape to the cel itself just for
cosmetic value. They stay pretty well in place
even separated by bags on their own. If you're
going to tape to make everything stay in place,
tape bags holding the cels together.
3 - I haven't gotten around to experimenting with
cleaning. Some of my friends have to some success
but I find it too risky for me.
4 - Unless the bagging job is really good (and a
real pain to get off), I tend to scan out of the
bag. Even in the top notch jobs, the wrinkles and
layers show through.
5 - I'm hit and miss with bagging the sketches and
backgrounds. It depends whether there's a cel to
go with the background, where in my collection
it's being stored and the general quality and
materials used.
6 - I'm not sure I know what 'slightly stuck'
means. If you have to go through any of the
methods you listed, I would consider that more
than slightly stuck and not risk damaging it.
