there were two good things about Treasure Planet.

1. The single "I'm Still Here" by Johnny Rzeznik
(I've seen the Goo Goo Dolls in concert three 
times. It should be four, but the roof collapsed 
during one of their rehersals and the concert was 
scrapped). That is one cool song to be sure.

2. The idea itself. The whole idea of taking a 
classic novel and giving it a new direction is 
intriguing to the English teacher in me. I am for 
any major studio opening children up to 
literature in any fashion. However, I think they 
could have pulled it off much better than they 
did. The great animation just didn't win over the 
writing and characters for me.
