I got my EPSON Perfection 1640 SU about 2-3 years
ago and it's perfect. Has both USB and SCSI
interface (i use the scsi interface).

I use photoshop for scanning but that's just
because after that it's easier to crop  and rotate
the pics, but i have never had to do any kind of
retouch on my scans (neither for cel scans or for
any other kind of scans).

When i got it it was the latest model so i suppose
you can get better ones now, but anyway, the only
thing on an scanner that i would really apreciatte
so much is just one with the same features of mine
but bigger scan surface so i could scan my
oversized cels without problems.
