I think we have a fairly loving relationship, my 
dear scanner and I.  :-)  It's an hp psc 750 
combined printer, scanner, fax, and copier 
machine.  It tends to pick up most of the colors 
fairly well, save for certain bright reds.  (Or 
thus that's what I've had the most problems with 
thus far.)  Depending on the settings, it can 
also brighten the image up a bit, but I think 
that has something to do with the program I used 
to edit it.

I don't think it was a particularly expensive 
machine, either...I don't think it was more than 
$200-300 at best (I doubt even that much), and 
I'm sure you could find one for less from the 
same brand for just a scanner rather than a 
multi-parter like mine.
