I send my money orders to Japan via airmail. It
costs all of **80 cents** and gets there in about
four or five days barring weekend holdups. If you
really want to be anal about it, you can use
Global Prioroty which costs about $5 for the
little flat rate envelope and it gets there in
about the same time (but sometimes in three days).
I don't know what people you're talking to, but
they seem to be **C L U E L E S S** about mailing
things overseas. I suggest you go to the USPS
website and print up a quote for what you tried
to ask for. Then go to the postmaster at that
office (with the name of the guy who was at the
register) and try to get some of your money back.
It probably won't work, but you never know. . .
And if nothing else, someone will fill in the
gaps in this dingbat's knowledge. o_0
