I'd have to say that I have been really lucky. I
don't recall having any serious damage done
during shipping.
The worst was probably a cel w/ background that
was shipped between two pieces of cardboard that
had obviously been bent in half. The cel had no
damage, but you can still see slight creases in
the background if you look close enough. This
was back when I first started collecting and I
used to fret about it all the time - but I've
since learned to mellow out a bit :)
The one I consider a miracle that it got here in
one piece was also from France. It was shipped
to me in a simple manila-type folder that had the
sides taped up. No cardboard or anything(!)
(though it did come with a background) and it
arrived in perfect condition. It still cracks up
my husband and me because the package had "Do Not
Blend" handwritten all over it - the post office
must have taken it a sign that it was extra
fragile :)

P.S. I'd have to say that Anime Taro has the best
packaging - nice and simple and it would have to
be put through the ringer before it would bend.
As much as I appreciate Usagi's House and other
dealer's very safe packaging - sometimes it takes
me a good 15 minutes or more (and a good deal of
frustration) to get through all the multiple
boxes and massive amounts of postal tape. Better
safe than sorry tho'. |
