I've never had a package that was sent to me
opened (although a letter was opened once)...
However, I once mailed a comic book to a friend
in Canada, and he told me later that customs
there opened the package to check the contents
before they would release it to him. A comic
book, for heavens sake?
I think I would have a heart attack if anything
fragile that was mailed to me was ever opened
by customs or anyone else... not because of
what they would find (as I'm not plotting any
terrorist acts, I love my country except for
that evil postal service which exists on a
love/hate relationship) but because I doubt
that a government employee would open my
delicate and beloved package with half as much
TLC that it would deserve (aka mangled remains)...
