I've noticed that in general.... the packages that 
I ask to be insured (even if just for a LITTLE bit 
of money) seem to fare better.  it's almost like 
that little insurance sticker, even i its only 
insured for $50 makes them be nicer to the 
package.

(not always the case obviously... but its worth 
a shot!)
