I totally agree!

While I haven't been a cel collector for years,
I have been an antique collector and dealer for
many years and it comes down to one thing.

Buy the best you can afford. The best will always
be worth more. It's that simple, whether it's a
cel or an antique. Both are an area of collecting
where the prices are set by the consumer market
and are driven up/lowered depending on quality,
rarity, and popularity.

If a dealer sets a price too high, they have two
options, hold onto it or lower the price. I
personally buy and sell a lot of merchandise, in
terms of antiques. My goal is to sell it, not have
it sit in a shop (or a website) for months. That
money is being tied up in a product when it could
be better served somewhere else.

Obviously, you should enjoy what you collect,
that's a given. But it doesn't hurt to look
at it as an investment either. I thoroughly enjoy
what I have in terms of cels and I'm very glad
and fortunate to have found what I have. But it's
also nice to know if there ever comes a time when
I do need money, that I do have something to lean
on. :)

Just my opinion, like everyone's else. :)
