But most of the time sellers simply don't know : it would take far too long to check. Also, a background generaly increase the price of a cel but on many anime, the differance in price isn't very big. For hard to find cels, which are even harder to find with background and so much more expensive, you probably should check yourself before buying if that realy matter to you. (Personaly, it doesn't realy matter : I am buying first for the cel. A matching background is a bonus. If I know it's not the matching background and the price is much higher because the cel comes with a background, I may try to bargain the price but else...) I nearly never saw a cel stuck to a background. And even if that happen, I don't consider it a problem : After all, people generaly don't want to remove the original background... As for drawing... well, with care it's usualy possible to unstuck them in nearly all case. As a collector, a stuck drawing won't change anything when I consider or not to buy a cel. Even if I prefer unstuck. (but old cels are more often stuck so if that's the kind of anime you want...) As a dealer, I simply don't have the time to check all cels. Also, many cels come in sealed packs and some people don't like if you open them to check. Once again, if that matter to you when buying, ask first. I don't think that anybody will refuse to answer you... Cheers, Yann Stettler |
