First, only the newer Global Priority envelopes
have the sticker strips for tracking. Second, you
have to make sure the strip is scanned when you
send the package. My post office is very good,
but even they still make the slip of forgetting
it's not normal Priority, and a Global Priority
doesn't get scanned. Not sure how many times
along the way something wouldn't get scanned for
the same reason.
All said, I personally love EMS. It's easy, fast,
and I also love to be able to track where things
are going. I have shipped things by SAL a couple
times, but the stress of "where is it" simply
isn't worth it -- not to mention, every time I
ship that way, I make sure I'm prepared to accept
that it might get lost and the seller can't do
anything about it.
Incidentally, it's been EMS that has sealed the
deal on a lot of Yahoo Japan transactions for me.
Seems if a "no international" seller is even
willing to consider international shipping, as
soon as they find out EMS is trackable and auto-
insured, they're happy to let me bid. ^_^ So I
completely ADORE EMS. *^_^*
