But isn't it rude to know nothing of a local
language, go to that country and expect people to
understand YOUR language? Like that American
visiting our house, addressing the agent in
English, agent only understands French, American
moping. Why? Learn French, DUMBASS!! Takes a day
or two to do. I, too, got my ass sore studying
French and Flemish when I first got here.
It'd be shameless to expect the people her to
understand German!
I think languages are a MUST and there's no
reason to not learn the language of the country
you're going... Learn or keep out or be mute
during the stay. Which ain't polite either.

By the way, spoken/heard Japanese is a zillion
times easier than Flemish or French O.o

I'm going to Japan this summer and I'm prepared
and preparing.

Soredeha, yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
Ore-sama
