I have a friend who had her identity stolen about 
two years ago but a con-artist couple. The lady 
used the identity to buy boats, get loans on 
houses and cars and then skipped town, leaving my 
friend with the bill. Overall, it is estimated 
that the thives swindled over $150,000 in my 
friends name, and it took her two years to 
restore her name and credit rating. She got 
married a year ago and couldn't even get a house 
because of this whole thing. I'm certainly glad 
that you found this out before it got too 
complicated, but it is still a bummer.
