In the item description, I say I just simply
don't accept payments from credit cards. If
someone wants to make a side deal with me so that
I'll accept a credit card payment, so be it. But
if they're going to be a stickler for rules, then
so will I, and they can pay by the methods I
listed I will accept -- USPS money order or
Paypal from a *funded* account. I can't see a
bidder running to Ebay officials to say they're
mad I'm asking a fee when they're trying to pay
by a method I didn't say I would accept. ^_^
The way I see it, it would be the same as if
someone from Japan wanted to send payment by,
say, yen registered mail. I would accept it, but
would charge them for the bank fee to convert it.
And all that would be arrangements technically
outside of Ebay.
Incidentally, does anyone know if paying by a
method other than what the seller lists as
acceptable has any effect on how Ebay would cover
you if there were a problem? I'd be curious. . .
But not curious enough to dig through the site.
(*grin*)
