As a cel collector myself, I'm totally agree with
you.
But if I'm the person who run a studio, I'll
prefer CG(Computer Graphic). Why? Because it save
time & money!!
As you see, for cels, it takes time to print &
wait them to dry, but for CG, there's no such
problem! Just click some color bar, then here we
go! We can save money as we need to to buy the
PVC and coloring materials.
Besides, drawing & coloring something with the
aid of graphic softwares is easy(when compared
with hand made cels), there's not very important
to employ someone who's good at drawing &
printing! Again, safe more money from employing
skillful animetors.
As result(IMO), I believe the useage of CG on
animates with had a rapid growth in the coming 5
years. But I don't like this, that means those
valueable hand made cels will be disappeared in
the world......may be, the next generation will
only able to know what a cel look like in a museum
(If any cel collector really able to part one of
their collection to donate with--but I'm sure I
won't)
