Not that I think my sparse page is a fantastic example of html, but. . . (Sun Dec 29 15:01:08 2002 )

Why do you have to make your page all kinds of
terribly flashy? My own site is kind of bland as
sites go, but that only means people don't come
just to see flashy graphics. Why is that a bad
thing? My site loads quickly (so I've been told)
and the arrangement of the things on the site
might not scream "creativity", but at least it's
*MINE* and doesn't look like anyone else's.

On the other hand, I've long given up on visiting
most Rubberslug galleries. Inevitably, the person
has a HUGE banner, which (as was mentioned) needs
to be reloaded each time someone goes to a new
page of the site. Then the cel images load slowly
too. I'm on a cable modem and it still takes so
long to load Rubberslug pages that I never let
them fully load. (*shrug*) So there goes your
"design" element, since otherwise Rubberslug
pages all each look like every other -- one after
the other cookie-cutter, identical layouts.
There's nothing creative about that.

I guess I'd rather have "boring" than "copied"
and (boring as my page may be) if I'm not going
to take the time to put up something I consider
good, then I'm not going to put up anything at
all. To me, it's sad! The number of people I know
have beautiful sites, going to Rubberslug because
they "don't have time" to upkeep their site. It's
a shame and a waste. But that's just my take on
it. I've despised Rubberslug from the beginning.

Many Sharp Smiles,
