I was also originally duped by a dishonest seller
before I knew that *BOTH* SonMay and EverAnime
were bootlegs. (I'd known about SonMay, but not
EverAnime. *grrrr*) Now I don't buy a damn thing
over here unless it's an official US release. If
I'm buying a Japanese release CD, I go to one of
three places:
Amazon.co.jp
(Note: Since domestic shipping is free, but they
charge 3000yen for international shipping, it's
actually cheaper to go through a deputy than to
order the things yourself!)
Animaxis.com
(Waiting patently for their return. . .)
Yahoo Japan
(Only after I research the CD in question and
check the labels. I usually only get CD singles
here since they're "low risk" -- bootleggers seem
to not bother with CD singles.)
Both my .hack//SIGN soundtracks came from Amazon
Japan (2800yen each before shipping) and my Ah My
Goddess movie soundtrack came from Animaxis (at
about $35US -- I forget the yen cost). My game
soundtrack for Dracula X: Nocturne in the
Moonlight (aka: Castlevania) cost +/-$40 (again,
I forget the exact yen cost).
That is what real Japanese CDs cost new.
Anyone looking for the Spirited Away soundtrack
has no further to look than the domestic released
disc. . . I own it and it's exactly what is on
the Japanese disc. Also for Vampire Princess Miyu
TV, the domestic disc is a perfect rerelease of
the Japanese -- I have both and have listened to
them side by side.
(REALLY off topic. . . If anyone bought the
limited edition Vampire Miyu TV DVD box set and
doesn't want the cutsey "Mystery Friendship
Charm", please write to me. My friend and I would
like another. ^_~~)
Many Sharp Smiles,
